Frequently Asked Questions About Worker’s Compensation

 1. What does an E1 packet contain?

The following three forms are to be jointly reviewed and signed by employer and injured worker:

  • Notice of Accident to be completed as soon as possible by the injured worker
  • Employers First Report of Injury to be completed by the employer, NOT by the injured worker.
  • Release of Medical Information

 2. Where do I submit the E1 packet?
The CCMSI iCE website or email newmexicoclaims@ccmsi.com

 3. What doctor can I go see?
Check with your employer before getting medical care (except emergency care). Your employer has the right to choose a doctor or to allow you to choose what doctor will be seen. When seeking medical care for your work-related injury, disclose that your injury occurred on the job.

 4. How do I find out who my adjuster is?
Call 505-837-8700, Monday-Friday 8 am- 5 pm. Or email newmexicoclaims@ccmsi.com. Update the adjuster and employer regarding work restrictions.

 5. How long does it take for a medical bill to be paid?
Medical bills are processed for payment within 30 days of receipt by CCMSI.

 6. Who do I contact about my indemnity check?
The claims adjuster or email newmexicoclaims@ccmsi.com

 7. What should I do if I receive a medical bill from my doctor or medical provider?
Call the 800 number on the invoice, inform them this is a WC claim, provide mailing address for CCMSI, P. O. Box 30870, Albuquerque, NM 87190 and ask them to redirect the bill.

 8. Does the Workers’ Compensation Bureau offer training for employers on completing the E1 packet?
CCMSI will provide a training tutorial upon request, for all insured State entities. Training is focused on assisting State entities in entering new claims into the new iCE website.

If you suspect or know of someone who may be committing fraud, those concerns should be reported to the Workers’ Compensation Administration’s Enforcement Bureau using this form located on that agency’s website.
